In October 2025, Greatwall Mixers’ after-sales engineering team traveled to Shandong to provide on-site installation guidance and commissioning services for the magnetic-drive mixers used in a higher alcohol production project. The equipment has now been successfully put into operation, running smoothly and reliably. The client expressed high satisfaction with both the mixer performance and the service quality.

Higher alcohols are essential chemical intermediates, generally referring to fatty alcohols with carbon chains of six or more atoms. They feature excellent lubricity, flexibility, and biodegradability. These products are mainly used in the production of plasticizers, surfactants, synthetic esters, and lubricant additives, and are also widely applied in new energy materials, coatings, and daily chemical industries. The synthesis of higher alcohols involves high-pressure hydrogenation, exothermic reactions, and multiphase catalytic systems, which place extremely high demands on reactor mixing efficiency, heat transfer performance, and sealing reliability.

The core equipment of this project is a synthesis reactor featuring a three-stage impeller configuration. The upper and middle stages are equipped with three-blade wide-pitch integral propeller-type impellers, which generate strong axial circulation to ensure uniform mixing of the reaction medium. The lower stage adopts an arc-blade disc turbine impeller, providing efficient local shear and gas dispersion to enhance mass transfer and reaction rates. The entire mixer operates through magnetic coupling, achieving shaftless dynamic sealing that completely eliminates the risk of leakage while significantly improving operational safety and maintenance convenience. At the same time, this configuration balances flow field uniformity, energy efficiency, and reaction performance, fully meeting the stringent requirements of higher alcohol synthesis in both mixing and sealing.

With deep technical expertise in magnetic drive and impeller system design, Greatwall Mixers provided the client with a comprehensive solution—from reactor configuration optimization to on-site commissioning—ensuring long-term stable operation of the equipment. Looking ahead, Greatwall Mixers will continue to drive green and efficient development in the fine chemical industry through innovative technologies and professional engineering services.
